descentIf you happen to be a huge fan of GOG.com simply because there are plenty of titles there from the yesteryears in which you would like to indulge yourself in an overwhelming sense of nostalgia, then surely you would have heard of the game Descent before. Arriving after the early years of Doom and Doom II, Descent proved to be a thriller on the DOS-powered PCs back then, as it offered full 360-degree movement. Well, it looks like the Descent titles have been removed from GOG.com, as the developer claims that it has not been paid since 2007.

The original Descent, Descent 2, Descent 3 and its Mercenary expansion, are no longer there for sale, no thanks to a dispute concerning royalty payments. These titles were removed before Christmas – which could be on or around December 18th, at least this is what a post on the GOG forums claims.

A GOG representative stepped forward to say this, “Due to changing hands and in-flux legal agreements, we just had to remove Descent 1+2 & Descent 3 + Mercenary from our catalog, effective immediately. We do want to apologize for not being able to give everyone more of a heads-up, and we will be doing our best to bring them back.”
