Crystal_PepsiBack in the day, companies like PepsiCo and Coca-Cola would come up with all sorts of wacky flavors to try and outdo each other, like when PepsiCo introduced the Crystal Pepsi which was essentially a clear version of the drink. Now if you did not get a chance to try it out back in the day, don’t worry you’ll have another chance.

PepsiCo has announced that they will be bringing back the Crystal Pepsi come 7th of July. It will be available for purchase until the 8th of August, and it seems that isn’t all. To celebrate the launch of the Crystal Pepsi, the company will also be releasing an accompanying video game called the “The Crystal Pepsi Trail” which is supposed to be based on the classic educational game, “The Oregon Trail”.

Apparently the goal of the game is to allow gamers to reminisce about the good old days, especially if they have played the game back in the 1990s. According to the game’s description, players will have to “collect as many 90s items along the trail as you can with your dawgs.” There will also be references made to trends from the 90s, like Furby, Tamagotchi, pagers (you remember those?), and bucket hats, just to name a few.

According to Linda Lagos, the director of marketing for Pepsi, she claims that this is “a very authentic way to talk to these guys that are so into the 1990s. It was the original desktop time-suck before Facebook existed.”
