game of thronesHBO’s Game of Thrones is without doubt one of the TV shows in the modern day that has changed the way stories are being told on the small screen. It also changed the way we treated characters, in the sense that we should never really expect any character to be safe from death, no matter how popular he/she may be.

Now there is maybe 2 seasons left in the HBO series, which is kind of a bummer for Game of Thrones fans, but not to worry as the series’ author, George R.R. Martin, has plenty of content left. Speaking to Deadline backstage at the Emmys, Martin revealed that he had thousands of pages worth of content that could spawn a potential Game of Thrones sequel.

“I do have thousands of pages of fake history of everything that led up to ‘Game of Thrones,’ so there’s a lot of material there and I’m writing more.” However he does note that he still has other projects in the works, so don’t expect it anytime soon if it were to even happen at all. “At the moment, we still have this show to finish and I still have two books to finish so that’s all speculation.”

There is plenty of stories that have led up to the events in the Game of Thrones series that we do not have enough information on. Sure, bits and pieces do get filled in every now and then, but a full blown prequel would be pretty interesting, no?
