Cisco Systems, Inc. is a U.S. multinational corporation that is based in San Jose, California. Cisco was founded in 1984 by Leonard Bosack, Sandy Lerner, and Richard Troiano. Cisco is one the first companies to sell commercially successful routers that are supporting multiple network protocols. The company's portfolio of products and services can be categorized into three sections - Enterprise and Service Provider, Small Business, and Home. As an enterprise and service provider, Cisco offers routers and switches for borderless networks. Cisco's products for small businesses also includes routers and switches; as well as IP cameras for security and surveillance, VoIP solutions, and network storage systems. For home users, Cisco has its Linksys product line of switches and access points.
