Alaska Airlines to launch inflight WiFi
Posted on Sep 18, 07 10:57 AM PDT

Alaska Airlines has just announced that it will bring inflight wireless Internet connectivity sometime next year, based on Row 44's satellite-based broadband connectivity solution. The system will first be tested on a next-generation Boeing 737 aircraft next spring. Depending on the outcome, plans will be formulated to equip its 114-aircraft fleet. Guess business passengers will love this feature since they can remain connected and continue working, while the younger crowd won't be separated from their online peers during travel. Game buffs will also be pleased to catch up on their MMOPRGs and join guild wars while in transit. Is WiFi availability a criteria for you when it comes to flying?
