Apple redesigning MacBook Pro adapters
Posted on Oct 9, 07 09:14 PM PDT

Word has it that Apple has already stopped shipments of MagSafe power adapters in its MacBook Pro notebook line due to quality design issues, and their engineers are working hard on a fix. It seems that Apple already begun to pull inventory of the 85W power supplies from its retail stores a few weeks ago, and discontinued shipments to third party retailers in view of upcoming "redesigned" models that are tipped to ship sometime later this month or in early November. If you're a MacBook Pro owner, have you experienced any issues with it? Whatever the case is, it is nice to see Apple take pro-active action that extols the virtue "prevention is better than cure".

Mine melted next to the box, and burned the carpet. I'm lucky I was home at the time, or there could have been a fire. After two fan replacements and a battery exchange, I'm definitely not a fan of Apple's hardware anyway. This will be the last MacBook I own.

My magsafe adapter has started melting. And in my institute Whistling woods International Mumbai most of macbook pro owners are facing these problems. I hope apple does some thing quick since we will be left without any chargers to use our Macbooks.
