LG Voyager Hands-On

I've ordered one and expect it within a few weeks. I'm pumped. It's got everything I would need.

Personally a 12 year old shouldn't have a phone at all. Unless it's basic. There is no reason on heaven or earth that a 12 year old needs a phone with anything more than basic calling with maybe texting. They shouldn't need a camera, or anything else after that. I'm 19 and would appreciate a phone like this one much more.

This phone looks amazing. I'm getting one next month and I can't wait! The only thing I have to say is that when I was trying it out in the Verizon store, it was very unresponsive when I was trying to unlock it (which has the possibility to be good or bad). People keep telling me to get the EnV2, but I don't like those.

And also, thanks BigT for posting that comment about the www.comparati.com. The comparisons they made between the Voyager and iPhone were very helpful to my decision on which service to switch to (Verizon/ATT&T). Now don't get me wrong, I still like the iPhone, I just think that the Voyager seems easier to use especially for texting.

Also, a lot of people on here sound as if they're 12. I don't understand why a 12 year old would need this phone. But I guess that's really none of my business.

you know what i'm 12 and i have to buy my own and there like 300 bucks and i get 12 bucks a week you try saving that much! it's hard

There actually is one. Check verizon's online store, or into one of their main stores.

Seperate Querty keyboard for faster texting. I can Copy and paste when i need to. It Has a program that reads your messages. it has Two Screen, it has video recording. removable memory.Not integrated like the Iphone wich if you break it your phones memory is Gone.Like if the battery fails for your iphone the phone is gone. You can't buy a seperate Battery for your iphone. Voyager has T.V, GPS, V-Cast, Voice command, 3g Connection Speed not 2g like the iphone. Full HTLM browser. Dual Speakers. Bluetooth that can be use with a stereo and support alot of more stuff. you can buy the Guitar hero game for your Voyager wich is really cool. You can put videos as your wallpaper. it has V-Cast Song ID. Wich recognizes what songs your lisening to. Well mostly the most important thing the Voyager has the best Network. You will always have a good call quality with this amazing phone. OMG i didnt wanted to write a whole book. Oh from what i just wrote the iphone lacks off.

i have the samsung u-740 --- worst mistake. the voyager is so awesome. i dont see why everyone is bashing it. the iphone and the voyager are both good phones. i thought it was really nice only thing is there should be some kind of screen protector for the fornt screen

You can simply lock the phone using the "switch" style button on the side.

After reviewing the Iphone and LG Voyager, I decided to go with the voyager and I love it, I would rocommend it to anyone. The Iphone is different in ways but the voyager can do so much more.

Does anyone know if there is a quicker way to lock the phone without going through all the steps.. Settings&Tools,Phone Settings,Security, Enter Phone Lock Code, Lock Phone Now... ???

This is the great, got everything that you need in the palm of your hand. Love watching TV on it during a boring day at work.

These posts sound like a bunch of spoiled, 12 year old kids who shouldn't even be using such an expensive phone to begin with!

I think the phone is a good try with the touch keypad feature. I really like the features that came with the voyager. This phone is a good buy and I would recommend it over the IPhone any day. Hey at least with this phone you get a warrenty, but with the Iphone you should have to put it on your home owner insuarnce. I guess if you do not have a home you are up a creek.

the voyager is so stupid. The sidekick id is good enough for me. ur taking a big wad of cash and throwing it out by buying the voyager!

i just got the phone yesterday for my 16th birthday, it is awesome, the camera is sweet as well as other features. It doesn't feel that big either. The only thing that made me mad was the lady selling the phone at the verizon store, she was trying to talk me out of it and saying i only needed an enV. I think the enV sucks, but the voyager is mad kool.

so the phone is sick, iono i realy only use it for text and talk so i guess its straight for that. wtf are you guys talking about iraq and shit

Mike (#15) got it right- the browser is awful. Google maps wouldn't load, zooming the view took minutes and while navigating the screen was so unresponsive your finger would hit buttons at the margin. The response to those inadvertent button presses was so slow you had no idea what you had done or how to undo it.

Maybe it's time to wait before jumping into any of these phones- they update them every six months.

Everyone seems to love these sliding keyboards but I find them to be frustrating. I prefer the flip phone design, it just feels sturdier.

I had the iphone for two months and absolutely hate it. I have had the voyager for about a week now and can say it is far superior to the iphone. Sorry Iphoners... YOUR OUT>.

I wonder if u can watch streaming videos ftom the websites or u can download other aplications from the internet to the phone

This phone looks amazing, i want one so bad but am unsure how good the touch screen is going to be i have the old chocolate phone and the touchscreen broke a lot but since they came out with the new chocolate the touch has improved so the voyager should have no problem...i want it so badd

Bigger than your head? It's smaller than a pack of cigarettes. I bought Voyagers for all my department heads...Best Buy is calling me when they get them now! Bomb Iraq, don't smoke, and buy a Voyager.

i am with u ray, i had the vx 8700 and i just ordered a voyager today. its amazing. i am really impressed with the camera

The last more-than-just-a-phone I had was a great mini-PC, but sucked as a phone. Is there any user experience on the Voyager having reception as good as a regular cell phone? In spite of the ad campaign, "Can you hear me now" is a common phrase on the VZW network and I'd rather not increase the frequency of that.

Does this phone have Wi-Fi? I have read a review that says it doesn't!!

I got the phone and it sucked i didn't like it all. the touch screen doesn't work all the time, and when i sit down the phone fells like it is taking up my whole pocket. The music sounds good but i don't really like how my mac doesn't allow any music to go to my phone, but oh well overall the phone is pretty good

I used the voyager today, and I really have mixed feelings about it. While it did a nice job as a phone and video player, the browser is really, really horrible. For some reason it is painfully slow, plus it is very difficult to navigate around on a page. They use a microscopic scroll bar on the side that's nearly impossible to use without inadvertently clicking some random link. I sure hope LG/Verizon do a browser upgrade in the near future. Until then, that will the the achilles heel for this phone

Sweet Phone... I just got the LG VX8700 and its going back im going to get a voyager

I have played with this phone previous to the release. It is awesome. Its great for music video and text

I have this phone and it isnt as big as it looks! Its light and very easy to use! it is an amzaing phone!! and i dont care what anyone says...just bc it has a touch screen..its nothing like the iphone people shouldnt even compare them! by 2010 im sure all phones will have touchscreens!
