Netgear Announces New ReadyNAS Devices

Netgear’s new line-up of network attached storage (NAS) devices have capacities ranging from 1.5TB to 4TB of data, depending on the drive capacity and RAID configuration that you opt for. As their name indicates, they are accessible from an Ethernet network and can be used to share or backup data. This new series will feature a better user interface. Windows, Mac and Linux clients are supported and the devices have a 5-year warranty. New line-up listing in the full post.

- NEW – RND4475 ReadyNAS NV+ 3TB Gigabit Desktop Network Storage (includes four 750GB SATA drives);
- NEW – RND4210 ReadyNAS NV+ 2TB Gigabit Desktop Network Storage (includes two 1TB SATA drives);
- RND4450 ReadyNAS NV+ 2TB Gigabit Desktop Network Storage (includes four 500GB SATA drives);
- NEW – RND4275 ReadyNAS NV+ 1.5TB Gigabit Desktop Network Storage (includes two 750GB SATA drives);
- NEW – RNR4410 ReadyNAS 1100 4TB Dual Gigabit Rackmount Network Storage (includes four 1TB SATA drives);

wow, if you're right, we might want to ping their public relations to ask them to stop sending years-old news to everyone.

Stay informed, these news are years old. Netgear recently bought Infrant (www.infrant.com), which produced these ReadyNAS devices under their label since years. To be able to swap the build-in 500GB SATA drives with the now available 1TB drives is a progress of the hard disk manufacturers, not Netgear's.
