Teac LP-R500 Needs A Hardware Redesign
Posted on Nov 7, 08 08:04 AM PDT

The Teac LP-R500 bridges the old and new worlds of audio, playing not only your father's vinyl records and cassette tapes, but it is also capable of CD playback. OK, so CD players are nothing new these days and have been dying a slow and sure death with the advent of MP3s, but you don't see anyone throwing out their CD collection just yet. In addition, at least it allows recording of old vinyls and cassettes to CDs just in case you want to preserve your record collection in a more durable format. Other features include an FM radio for those moments when you've really run out of songs to listen to and want to subject yourself to the rants of the local DJ. The Teac LP-R500 will retail for $700 and looks as though it was frozen in time where design is concerned.
