Posted on Jun 1, 09 07:47 PM PDT

Take out your tissues, boys and girls - Dell has retired their Inspiron Mini 9 from the netbook market today, closing a chapter in a highly successful product. The Inspiron Mini 9 was considered to be the unofficial "modders dream" device, where it was highly customizable with the ability to throw in GPS modules, various operating systems and memory upgrades assuming you had the technical know how to back you up. Since it is no longer in production, you can always check out the Dell Mini 10v as a suitable replacement with prices starting from $299 upwards. The Dell Mini 10v will feature a similar Intel Atom N270 1.6GHz processor, a choice between Windows XP and Ubuntu, 1GB RAM, a 10" display and a bigger keyboard alongside the option of a 16GB SSD or 160GB hard drive. What have been some of your more pleasant memories concerning the Dell Inspiron Mini 9?
