Nexus S Teardown Reveals A Flat LCD Inside

It didn’t take long for the folks over at iFixit to get their hands on the freshly-released Nexus S and now that they’ve got it, they’re doing what they’re well-known for – taking it apart. The teardown shows pretty similar components to other Galaxy S smartphones out there, such as the 1GHz ARM A8 Hummingbird processor and AMOLED display. The contour display is definitely one of the differentiating factors of the Nexus S, though it seems that the curve only applies to the glass itself, and the 800 x 480 pixel LCD touchscreen display housed within is flat, just like other touchscreen phones out there. iFixit gave the phone a repairability score of 7/10, citing potential difficulties of using a heat gun to separate the display from the frame and Samsung also fused the LCD to the glass, requiring users to replace both at the same time. So, have you purchased the Nexus S yet?
