Garmin’s new model is a budget GPS device. The eTrex Venture Cx is perfect for the great outdoors. At $249, you get a TFT color screen, a basemap of America with the option for an European one coming soon. microSD cards containing more specific maps are available – alternatively, you can load paths or waypoints via USB. 2AA alkaline batteries can last for 32 hours, and the eTrex Venture Cx can even be used underwater for up to 30 minutes in 1m of water. It can store up to 500 user waypoints including text and graphic labels. Expect the eTrex Venture Cx to be released this month.
