Actroid Ballroom Dance Robot

Robots are getting more and more attention these days, and their cause will be greatly helped with the extremely human-like Actroid DER female robot being displayed at the NextFest show in New York. These digital lifeforms are actually graceful ballroom dancers, and they certainly come dressed for the event.

The Ballroom Dance Robot made her debut last year, and are able to anticipate as well as match their partners’ dance steps via force and torque sensors.

Sure, there won’t be as much passion as actually dancing with a living, breathing human being, but for a robot to be able to perform complex moves such as ballroom dancing certainly makes us wonder what else will surprise us in the future.

A robot that is capable of deciphering humor and share toilet jokes at a stand up comedy? Each of these metal ladies will cost your a jaw-dropping $300,000.
