Microscopy Table for the living room

We all know the drill when it comes to a magnifying glass – anything underneath will automagically look much larger, but the Microscopy Table designed by Vakahn Matossian takes a different route, where the pane of glass in the middle is actually a screen for magnifying whatever items (organic or not, it doesn’t matter) you place at a special ‘hot spot’ corner by a factor of 40. I can imagine the family having a fun time examining up close all the everyday items around the house, but one thing that bugs me is the power cord that snakes out of the table leg. Perhaps using a rechargeable battery solution would be a better solution, but it looks as though we will have to put the offending leg in a corner now.
