Salamander robot a boon

Give me the chance to play with a robotic salamander and I’ll probably try to annoy the neighbor’s cat with it. Put it in the hands of neurobiologists, and they use it to study the human spinal cord processes instead (which is by far the more noble action compared to mine). This unique robot manages to reflect reality pretty well, validating scientists’ model on how movements are generated by a real salamander. This development will definitely boost the research of search and rescue robots where changing the speed, direction, and gait based on simple remote signals are essential in navigating through treacherous situations.
