Word on the grapevine has it that Sony Ericsson will be working on a new set of game-centric cellphones, offering a bunch of multimedia functions and an interface similar to the PSP. I suppose this will create a “third pillar” in handheld gaming, offering a balance between the DS/PSP games and all too basic cellphone games. I suppose this is a move to stem the profuse bleeding that the gaming division is suffering from currently. What do you guys think – will mobile gaming on cellphones actually take off, or do people prefer more complex games as those found on the DS and PSP? Photo courtesy of Clipset.
