Digital camera manufacturers have long been reticent when it comes to including WiFi connectivity in their cameras, but Eye-Fi hopes to turn the tide by developing a memory card that boasts integrated WiFi functionality. This new WiFi memory card will enable your camera to send a recently taken photograph to any photo site such as Flickr. Word has it this card is compatible with the regular SD format (sorry folks, no SDHC for you – yet) due to the way the memory chips are stacked. This is one method of bringing WiFi to just about any camera without imposing additional financial burden on the consumer by including a function that the consumer might not want. Hopefully this card won’t guzzle up too much battery power as digital cameras have a relatively low enough battery life as it is already.
