Raon Digital has just introduced the Everun line of UMPCs in Korea, consisting of the Everun Standard and Everun Lite. We shall take a look at the former for obvious reasons, as the beefier Everun weighs a mere 460 grams while packing in a 4.8″ WVGA LCD screen that can display a maximum resolution of 800 x 480 pixels. This screen also boasts auto-rotation and auto-brightness control for better viewing under all conditions. Battery life is rated at 7 hours (12 hours with a larger battery), and this could be attributed to the AMD Geode processor. Features include WiFi connectivity, Bluetooth 2.0 support, and an option to throw in a HSDPA/WiBro modem. Storage depends on your budget as you choose from hard drive or SSD options. The Everun UMPC will be available in late June for approximately $700. DI do have my reservations with having such a small display – it certainly isn’t great when it comes to boosting productivity on-the-go, making it more of an expensive document and image viewer than anything else.
