Volvo takes hybrid route with ReCharge

Volvo of Sweden has unveiled the ReCharge, making it the latest green car from their stable. It is first and foremost an electric car, being a hybrid second. Whenever the speedometer passes the 60mph mark, the ReCharge will operate fully as an electric vehicle courtesy of power from the lithium polymer battery. Should battery power drop to 30% at any time, the “four-cylinder Flexifuel engine” will get to work charging the battery. It takes approximately 3 hours for a full charge, while a single hour charge gets you around 30 miles in mileage. If you keep going at 93mph, you’ll get a whopping 124mpg. Other features include all-wheel drive and doing away with the gear lever. Heck, it is pretty zippy from a standing start hitting 62mph from 0 within 9 seconds. Hurry up and realize this concept car, Volvo! My checkbook is ready.
