Apple’s latest iMac apparently suffers from a fatal flaw that renders the entire interface useless, where the only remedy would be to go out and buy a new one. Nah, I’m kidding. You can perform a hard reset to get things up and running again. The iMac will continue running despite the user interface freeze, but you won’t be able to select anything with the mouse nor tab through your list of open applications. The ATI Radeon HD graphics card and drivers seem to be the main cause, although that has yet to be proven. There is no permanent fix available from Apple just yet although the company is aware of it. Hopefully future iMac Software Update packages will include the said fix. In the meantime, would you pick up an iMac knowing full well that such a problem exists?
