Samsung announces SGH-i550 The Samsung SGH-i550 that was announced at the Symbian Smartphone Show in London holds the distinction of being the first GPS navigator-equipped smartphone from Samsung. This candybar handset will run on Symbian OS v9.2 and S60 3rd Edition, Feature Pack 1, giving users the choice to run thousands upon thousands of S60 applications while providing quick and easy access to their favorites courtesy of dedicated hot keys. GPS navigation is made easy thanks to voice activated turn-by-turn guidance for car drivers to keep their eyes on the road, while pedestrian mode makes it a cinch for tourists to find their way around in unfamiliar territory. Other features include HSDPA 3.6Mbps, 128MB RAM, a 2.6″ LCD display, a 3.2 megapixel camera with video recording, 150MB of internal memory, and an integrated FM radio. The Samsung SGH-i550 will hit Europe this November with other continents to follow in all probability.
