The Rabie network robot from ETRI looks out of this world, but features experimental technology that allows it to express up to seven different emotions such as happiness, sorrow and even surprise. The Rabie is capable of being a babysitter as it plays with your kids – hopefully it has been constructed tough enough to hold up against the rigors of those who are still in their terrible threes. Emotion is conveyed via the emoticon display located in its eyes. You won’t see the Rabie appearing on store shelves anytime soon as it is meant for research purposes at this point in time.
