Vocera upgrades badge

Vocera has just upgraded its Communications Badge – the B2000 comes with enhanced 802.11b/g wireless support as well as a spanking new vivid display that enables mobile staff to communicate in a more effective manner. In addition, it doesn’t come in just boring black anymore as a new set of colorful protective sleeves has been introduced in order to allow facilities to identify teams while enabling users to have some fun personalizing their Vocera experience. Vocera aims to leverage 802.11g in order to improve performance and reliability, where a high-performance patch antenna reduces the chances of dropped calls in places where poor wireless coverage is the norm. Vocera has also added support for new security protocols, including Advanced Encryption Standard-based WPA2 and WPA2-PSK, and EAP-FAST. No idea on how much it costs, but it will be available in the US from next month onwards.
