AMD’s crossfire on Intel’s P45 chipsets

Following the acquisition of ATI by AMD, many were wondering if Intel was ever going to get a multi-GPU solution for its own chip, as AMD might have wanted to keep the CrossFire mojo for itself.

Now we know: Intel has a CrossFire license and the P45 chipset should be Intel’s first multi-GPU enabling chipset.

By packing two AMD Radeon HD 3870 X2 (2 GPUS on each board), a P45 system would have a total 4 GPUS.
