
Casio has rolled out its Cassiopeia IT-600 device that is powered by Windows CE 5.0, and is marketed for ID barcode scanning applications. You can even opt to throw in a digital camera that functions even in low light conditions at a price. By all means the Cassiopeia IT-600 is one tough cookied, capable of shaking off 4-foot drops onto a concrete floor while meeting protection level 5 for resistance to dust and protection level 4 for water-splash resistance. There is no word on pricing or availability as at press time. Features of the IT-600 include :-

- Memory: 64MB RAM, 128MB flash
- Display: 3.7″ VGA touchscreen display
- Keyboard: 21-key, with three scanning triggers
- Camera: one megapixel, with low-light capability
- Bar code scanner: Scans from 2.4″ to 12″
- Wireless interfaces: Bluetooth 1.2, IrDA, 802.11b WLAN (optional)
- Expansion: MiniSD memory card slot
