Sony’s line of noise canceling headphones has received yet another member in the form of the MDR-NC40 model. This new addition comes in a lightweight design that moves excess weight from the headband and earpieces by placing the battery pack right on the cord of the headphone. Smart move, that. The open air design ensures that pressure is distributed evenly across the outer ear, while the presence of soft, pressure-reducing urethane cushioning prevents user fatigue during long trips. The Sony MDR-NC40 is able to be folded into a case the size of a softball when not in use, making it highly portable. This new pair of headphones will be released this March for approximately $100.
