Asus takes the more rugged route with the B51 notebook that was specially built to withstand harsh operating conditions as well as the rigors of constant travel. It features a lightweight yet strong magnesium alloy chassis that provides adequate protection for its innards, while holding out against shocks pretty well with rubber bumpers along the edges and a high strength protective film that shields the notebook from scratches. A sponge protection system helps keep the Asus B51′s hard drive safe, while a drainage path has integrated into its design so that the keyboard won’t kaput that easily whenever a clumsy colleague with a drink in hand drops by your desk. It can withstand drops up to 75cm in height, so you can be sure this ain’t no mommy’s boy notebook.
