Bandai Hex Bug Robot Crabs

Robots are supposed to be cool, but why did Bandai release the Hex Bug robot crabs? After all, crabs aren’t exactly the most impressive creatures on earth to be turned into a robot. Still, if you’re a crustacean lover, these Hex Bug crabs will come in red and blue colors, retailing for $25 a pop when August 9 rolls around in Jpaan. According to Bandai, these robots behave just like the real thing, capable of scurrying away to a dark area to hide courtesy of its integrated light sensor. In addition, they also respond accordingly to sound through an integrated sound sensor. Woe to you should an inquisitive kid by the beach pick this up and decide to keep it for his/her collection. If only they had a version with real menacing pincers which actually pinch – now that’d be something.
