Altec Lansing has just rolled out what is the first 2.2 powered audio system from the company that features a dual 4″ subwoofer located in the base of each speaker. The company claims that the FX3022′s 1.5″ drivers will offer “crisp vocals and high frequency detail”, but unless you’re a seasoned audiophile, I don’t think the 128kbps MP3 generation will notice that much of a difference. Still, the speakers do take on a rather unorthodox design and can be connected for iPods as well as other MP3 players via the Aux input jack. Those in the UK will be able to pick up the FX3022 from October 1st onwards for £99.99.
