The live blogging on this post is now over. Thanks for following it, and apologies for the server issues, we went down here and there under the crushing pressure of thousands of page refresh – we’ll work on it, we swear!

11:00: That’s the end. Jack Johnson’s performance is over!

10:53: Jack Johnson is live on stage. Apparently, he’s the best-selling male artist on iTunes with 60 million albums. (err… ok)

10:52: Steve Jobs is coming back to iPods and itune: 160 million iPods sold (wow), it sounds like we’re getting close to the end. All the announcements have been made, probably.

10:50: iphone 2.1 Update – This update is supposed to bring improvements across the board: better battery life, more stability, faster backups and… fewer dropped calls. It’s a free update to all iPhone owners – available on Friday.

10:40: Games demonstrated: Spore Origins, Gameloft’s Real Soccer 2009, Need For Speed: Undercover. The graphics are OK, not PSP-level, but PS1 with bilinear filtering, maybe. “It’s the best portable device for playing games” says Steve Jobs.

10:35: App store: it’s been only 60 days since the store launched, but it feels like forever to us atubergizmo. 700 games are available – quite impressive.

10:31: At last, this might be the end of crappy earphones included with the iPod. The new ones look more comfy to wear and of course, they are said to have great sound quality, thanks to 2 drivers on each side.

10:30: updated iPod Touch, with Genius playlist creation, integrated Nike+iPod receiver and feature = no need to plug a receiver anymore, woohoo.

10:25: Green: the new iPod is supposed to be greener and use less toxic stuff like arsenic, mercury, PVC and so on…

10:20: Steve Jobs is showing the crushing market share that iPod has. Announces the new iPod! Battery life is 24hrs with audio and 4 hours of video. There’s a shake to shuffle that Sandisk came out with a while back – I wonder if it would shuffle if you’re running. They must have thought of that.

10:13: Genius is downladable today. Expect a spike in traffic at Apple.com

10:09: GENIUS. “automatically make playlist from songs in your library that go great together with just one click”. It learns your musical taste (anonymously) and, combined with the taste of other users, it’ll help the system find songs that you’ll probably like.

10:06: iTunes 8 is demoed. While listening to a song, users can now bring related content that might interest them. It’s a search by interest/targeted advertising thing, I guess. Steve considers iTunes 8 tobe very important, with improvements across the board. There’s going to be more content, too.

10:04: LOL – Steve does havea sense of humor, after all. (a media outlet leaked his obituary recently)

10:00: music comes in. It’s not going to start late, after all! There’s not a lot on the stage, and this is expected to be an ipod-centric event.

09:50: Woohoo, the crowd is coming in… run to get the best spot…

09:40: The crowd is still waiting to get in… are we going to start late?…

08:55: coming soon…
