Sony Vaio Type A

Sony has introduced its new Vaio Type A laptop that will definitely build up muscles for the skinny, as it comes in a massive 18.4″ form factor. Definitely not for the faint hearted, but with that much space within the chassis, you can expect some pretty souped up specifications within. Good to know that you won’t be disappointed with the following :-

  • 18.4″ LED backlit display
  • 1,920 x 1,080 resolution
  • Intel T9400 Core 2 Duo 2.53GHz processor
  • Blu-ray optical burner
  • Up to 4GB RAM
  • 500GB hard drive
  • Firewire jack
  • Three USB 2.0 ports
  • High-speed UDMA-enabled CF
  • HDMI-out
  • 802.11n Wi-Fi connectivity
  • GeForce 9600M GT graphics card

All those eventually weigh down the Type A by 3.9kg, but then again what do you expect from a desktop replacement? The Vaio Type A will retail for approximately $3,000 upwards when it hits Japanese retail shelves sometime at the end of September.
