Google Earth for iPhone is available at the App Store

Google Earth is now available on the iPhone and it’s a long dream that just became reality for those who worked on the project since its inception, says Peter Birch, Google’s earth product manager. “This is the first opportunity we’ve had to be able to deliver a great experience [on a mobile platform]“ he adds.Google Earth is available on the iPhone App Store today as a free download.

So far, those who have tried it are reporting that the user experience is good and that is somewhat comparable to the desktop experience when using WIFI. The multi-touch user interface might even make the iPhone version easier to use than the computer one, which raises the question: will the Mac version support multi-touch too? Of course, expect an Android version too, although Google missed a buzz opportunity by releasing the iPhone version first.
