The Dreamcast was an amazing console despite its super short shelf life, but that does not mean it is a lousy machine by any means. While this would show that there aren’t as many discarded Dreamcasts around compared to PS2s, that doesn’t mean one cannot take an old Dreamcast, rip out its innards and replace the insides with PC components. Case in point, this modded Dreamcast from Tokyo PC shop Tsukumo. Inside, you’ll find the following hardware :-
- Sony NEC Blu-Ray BD-5500A drive
- HDMI output
- Western Digital 160GB hard drive
- MINIX 780G-SP128MB motherboard
- USB ports
This Dreamcast PC will be powered by the Windows XP Professional operating system, but you’ll need to pay through your nose for this. They’re asking for a pocket-cringing $1,000.
