Literacy Bridge Announces Talking Book Devices

Literacy Bridge, a non-profit organization, has just rolled out a pilot program of its Talking Book Devices which are actually a “sub-$10 audio computer”. These tiny devices can be pre-programmed with a variety of spoken-word lessons to assist education in places where there is no access to formal education or electricity. Not only will the Talking Book Device disseminate essential, accurate information via device-to-device sharing, it can also enable learners to engage in comprehension and pronunciation activities down the road with the ability to play back lessons at your own pace, skipping ones that you know while repeating those that you need a little extra help in. The pilot program is currently being tested in Ghana.
