Marvel Entertainment could be forging a new path by introducing motion comics to iPod and iPhone users via the iTunes Store. Marvel has already stated, “Watch and hear your favorite comics, authors and artists come alive. Remaining true to the heritage of panel-by-panel graphic storytelling, boasting groundbreaking graphics, sensational soundscapes and, of course, the explosiveness of the Mighty Marvel Universe, here comes the all-new, all-awesome Marvel Motion!” Let’s hope that the voice overs won’t be as corny as those taken from old cartoons, but feature more believable sound effects as with those found in later Marvel Entertainment releases on the silver screen. Voice actors will render speech bubbles obsolete, and while animation won’t be similar to a TV show, they will still bring the traditional comic format to life in an engrossing experience. We’re so excited, we’ve wet our pants.
