Smart Robot Greets Visitors

Japan’s aging population problem seems to be unique only to that part of the world, although there are some countries that are moving towards that direction. This has spurred the growth of robotic technology and its application in everyday life, with both Shimizu Corp. and Yasukawa Electric opening the “Smart Showroom” that will demonstrate the use of Smart Robots in intelligent buildings. The whole idea is to deploy this robot to roam around, where it will then interact with humans to make their visit more pleasant by answering various questions while providing help onverall. This conceptual robot currently comes with a speech synthesizer, an LCD projector and a maximum travel speed of up to 3.6km/h.
