iPod Tax Scuttled In New York

New York Governor David Paterson just announced that his government will not institute plans to introduce taxes which would very likely have raised the costs of digital music in that part of the country. Informally known as the “iPod tax”, this proposed tax structure was originally meant to help make up for an exceptionally large spending deficit for the year, although recent federal bailouts have cushioned the impact while delaying the need for such a tax structure for the moment. No idea if the iPod tax will rear its ugly head again in the future, but will you purchase more stuff over iTunes if such a structure was implemented?
