There is nothing quite like imitating nature when you want to get things done in the most efficient manner, as with the case of the Lunocet. This 2.5-pound monofin is constructed from carbon fiber and fiberglass which will hook up to an aluminum foot plate at an exact 30-degree angle. The fin has a span of almost a meter wide, and boasts almost thrice the surface area of standard swim fins. Apparently, those who wear the Lunocet and hit the waters are reporting maximum speeds of up to 8 miles per hour – that’s virtually double of what Olympic Gold Medal swimmer Michael Phelps can do at his level best. Would you fork out $1,500 for this just to gain an advantage in the pool?
