The MPJ-101 pico LED projector was announced just a couple of months ago, and our friends at Akihabaranews have got hold of one to play with. Just to keep the gray matter going, the MPJ-101 is a 3M like LED compact projector that has an average resolution of 640 x 480 pixels, packed with 1GB of internal memory, an SD memory card slot and basic portable media player functions such as MPEG-4 H.264, M-JPEG, basic JPEG, and MP3 audio support – something other pico projectors lack. Basic control buttons are located on top, with a puny 0.5W speaker accompanying it alongside a remote control. Apparently, the user interface is a no brainer, and one ought to be able to use it without the need for a manual. Video quality is average at best, making this useful for those who are always on-the-go so don’t expect home theater quality. Audio quality ought to remain at low levels otherwise the extremely limited capability of the speaker will show when you pump up the volume.
