Verizon Wireless look set to offer a Novatel MiFi for the masses by announcing it at CTIA ’09 in Las Vegas. What’s the Novatel MiFi, you ask? Well, it is in essence a battery-powered 3G-capable Wi-Fi router. All you need to do to create an instant Wi-Fi hotspot is to push a button and you’re good to go, without having to worry about wires or tethering applications. This could be a big deal for bloggers who are always on the go, especially teams who cover press conferences and need an instant Wi-Fi connection without having to rely on individual 3G accounts so that costs can be kept to a minimum.
