Most men have their box of tools, and treat is sacredly just like how ladies love their make-up set to bits. Not all tool chests are created equal though, so if you want to be at the top end of the food chain, it would be interesting to check out the $500 Pelican Mobile Tool Chest. Here’s a brief description of this tough cookie :-
The 0450 Mobile Tool Chest survives rough handling and transport in extreme environments. It can hold over 150 lbs. of tools and re-configurable drawers keep tools secure, even after the case has been turned upside down while closed. The 0450 flips up on its wheels to orient the front of the case upward for transporting. The wide track design stabilizes the case while using the extending pull handle. Footpads in the bottom of the case and mirror depressions in the lid allow multiple cases to be stacked. This facilitates fast, secure loading and tie-down. Standard case attributes include automatic pressure equalization valve (to balance the air pressure inside the case with the pressure outside the case), o-ring seal (to keep dust and moisture out), full-grip rubberized handles (for one or two person loading) and stainless steel padlock protectors.
Sounds like it has all the grounds covered where protecting your tools are concerned, although we’re sure it won’t be able to survive a nuclear blast.
