Flexpeaker Stereo Speakers Are Totally Rad

Engineers from Taiwan’s Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI) have manged to develop rolls of paper stereo speakers which could see action in cars from as early as next year onwards, and this same group also hopes to introduce these paper-thin speakers at an exhibition in Taipei next year, unveiling a 3-story high banner which is more than capable of blaring out its own tunes. Known as the Flexpeaker, you can tote it around by rolling it up, or even folding it into creases just like regular paper. Of course, we think this would mean such speakers are also extremely fragile, but they’d work great as an advertising medium when coupled with solar panels to provide it with the necessary juice. Now if only there was a flexible display that had speaker capability – posters will never be the same again.
