Weatherproof Bluetooth RFID Reader

Have some extra time on your hands and want to develop your very own weatherproof Bluetooth RFID reader? You can’t really go wrong then by following the instructions here where you hook up the popular BlueSmirf Bluetooth module to the ID12 RFID reader, creating a dust- and water-resistant (IP55) RFID reader which is able to send IDs to your computer or cell phone via Bluetooth connectivity without the need for a micro controller or an external power source. This was developed as a prototype for an online swim lap counter system known as Rfish, but it can also double up as a reliable worker in a self-contained, weatherproof RFID reader.
