While many have switched to AT&T just to get the iPhone, many more are anxiously waiting for another carrier to sell it. Gene Munster at Piper Jaffray believes that within a year, iPhones will make their way to other U.S carriers. There is proof in Europe that when Apple switched to a multi-carrier model, its market share was very positively affected. It is then logical to think that when the AT&T exclusive expires, Apple will also switch to such a model in the U.S. With Verizon’s president being nice (verbally) to the iPhone, some take that as a hint that his company might be the first CDMA carrier to offer the iPhone.
