The ROPID (short for a combination of Robot and Rapid) is touted to be able to “run” and turn quickly in place, responding to verbal commands as well thanks to Raytron’s BSRM01-01E voice recognition chip embedded within. Capable of clearing heights of 8cm, this 38cm tall robot still has some issues to work out when asked questions – perhaps the software isn’t powerful enough to make the necessary adjustments for selected questions. Made from carbon fiber and plastic, the ROPID will feature legs that come with 2-axis accelerometers to help it maintain its balance regardless of running or jumping.
