HP Airlife 100 runs off Android OS

HP’s latest effort in the world of mobile computing has resulted in the new Airlife 100 that is powered by Google’s Android operating system, where it has a Snapdragon processor (this is yet to be confirmed) running underneath the hood, alongside a 16GB SSD, 3G and Wi-Fi connectivity as well as a 10.1″ touchscreen display. Apparently, the Airlife 100 comes with a 12-hour battery life which can last for up to 10 days in standby time. HP will offer this with Telefonica as it hits markets in Europe and Latin America under mobile broadband service plans. Do you think it might fall under the HP Mini branding when it hits Stateside?

Android Android is mobile operating system from Google. The software was originally built by a company called Android Inc, that was purchased by Google in 2005. From its modest debuts, Android has become a powerhouse that powers not only smartphones and tablet, but a host of other less high-profile devices and gadgets. Although Android is not a community-driven project, Google does release the source code as open-source under the Apache license.
