Taiwanese Firm Seeks An Injunction Against Apple Regarding Multi-touch

Considering that Apple is generally very protective of its patents, and doesn’t hesitate to take legal action when needed, it’s probably less used to being on the receiving end of a patent lawsuit, especially regarding the multi-touch technology. A Taiwanese chip designer, Elan Microelectronics, previously filed for an injunction against Apple, and now the company has stepped up its efforts, asking the US International Trade Commission for an injunction barring imports of the iPod Touch, iPhone and iPad. The company also claims that the MacBook and Magic Mouse are also in violation of its patent. What do you think will be the final outcome of this? A settlement perhaps?
