Elgato EyeTV HD DVR For Mac, iPhone and iPad

Want to catch your recorded movies from your DVR or cable box on your Mac? The folks over at Elgato might have a solution for you in the form of the new EyeTV HD. This box allows you to grab a 1080i video signal from your DVR back to be enjoyed on your Mac via Elgato’s desktop DVR software. As with many devices on the market nowadays, it also supports the iPad and iPhone, allowing videos to be transcoded into resolutions and formats supported by those devices. While the concept is nice, the bad news is that it needs to be connected to your Mac and your cable box via a physical USB cable. Granted, a 6-foot cable is already included, but not everybody has their Mac near their video source, especially since we’re used to being pampered by wireless connectivity nowadays. However, if you’re sold on this and the cable-distance isn’t an issue for you, you can pick the Elgato EyeTV HD from the online store for $199.95.
