Are we going to be getting an official Twitter app for the iPhone? From the latest happenings at the Apple App Store, it sure seems like we’re heading in that direction. As you might already know, Twitter has recently acquired Tweetie, and the app (Tweetie 2) has recently vanished from the App Store, indicating that a Twitter app for the iPhone should be going live soon. The icon used is the same icon used by Tweetie 2, though it remains to be seen if the app has been changed, or if it has just been rebadged. The good news is that Twitter for the iPhone should be a free download, saving us the $3 that Tweetie previously charged for the app.
