Seems like nowadays even kids aren’t spared from the tablet phenomenon, as HIPIKids has announced a tablet device aimed squarely at children, dubbed the HIPITouch. It sports a 10.1-inch multi-touch display, and is powered by the HIPICUBE Linux-based OS. USB and audio ports are noticeably visible on the side of this tablet, and it sports 8GB of built-in storage, Wi-Fi, 3G modules and will be arriving in September, priced around $500. A 7-inch ARM-based version of this tablet is also on the horizon. Do you think young kids should get into the habit of fiddling with tablet devices, or should they stick to books and cartoons?
